Everex presents $399 CloudBook tiny notebook at CES2008

Sales of Asustek Eee PC have soared in its earliest few months on the marketplace, and its achievement is already prompting new companies to present their own low-priced alternatives. The CloudBook is a 7-inch ultra-portable notebook from Everex that will be running the latest Linux-based open source operating system from gOS and will be available on the market at $399 price.
This ultra-portable originally described as the Nanobook by VIA prepared its debut at Last Vegas CES 2008, and it looks like it can give Asus a run for its money. Though equipped with the same 512MB of RAM, it uses the faster 1.2GHz VIA C7-M processor (versus the 900MHz Celeron of the Eee) and relies on a larger 30GB hard disk instead of the 4GB flash storage SSD from its competitor.
It also features a DVI output, 4-in-1 card reader, a 1.3MP webcam, and averages 5 hours of battery life on a 4-cell lithium-ion battery.
The CloudBook CE1200V will be available in late January at Walmart.com for $399.
